A brief history of Lifegate christian ministries

Lifegate Christian Ministries International was conceived in the hearts of Apostle C. Clifford Smith 111 & Elder Judy Smith in the year of our Lord 2001. God’s purpose was to establish a beacon of hope and truth that would edify the Body of Christ in North Abaco and beyond.

After prayerful planning and fasting, Apostle Smith led an Apostolic team to Cooper’s Town Abaco where Lifegate Christian was commissioned through a crusade held April 9th – 11th 2003. When the crusade had climaxed, people had been healed and converted. That same weekend, Lifegate’s first official worship was held. It was Palm Sunday, 9:00 a.m., there were ten persons in attendance and Apostle Smith preached the sermon. That day Lifegate Christian became the second of two New-Apostolic churches organized by the grace of God through Apostle Smith. Southside Christian in New Providence was the first, inaugurated in July of 2000.

Apostle Smith assigned Bro. Michael Russell and Sis. Sandra Russell with the task of caring for the Ministry until a pastor could be found. In June of 2003 Apostle Smith sent Dec. Terrance Strachan and Sis. Strachan as interim pastors of Lifegate. On the 28th March 2004 Dec. Strachan and Sis. Strachan were officially ordained as Bishop Terrance G. Strachan and Elder Shoine Strachan of Lifegate Christian Ministries International Cooper’s Town, Abaco.

Other Historical Points

Bishop Strachan and his family relocated to Abaco August 29th 2004 and was officially installed early the following year.

On May 18th 2008 the groundbreaking service was held in Blackwood. Elder Michael and Elder Sandra Russell maintained oversight of the building process.

The building was paid for in full in the month of December 2011 and arrived in Abaco on March 1st 2012. Erection of the building began on the 7th of March 2012 and was completed on the 4th of May 2012.

The first service in our newly erected building was held on Mother’s Day May 6th and Dr. Lenora Black delivered the sermon. The building process continued over the next three years. Finally, on June 26th 2015 Lifegate Christian Ministries Int’l edifice was officially dedicated by our General Overseer Apostle C. Clifford Smith III and Dr. Judy Smith.
